Hello, my name is Lorraine, I've been a licensed amateur since 2001.
I live in Mississauga, Ontario.
I haven't been on the air much, I do a lot of listening to VHF and UHF repeaters. I got an HF rig but I haven't figured out how to set up a good ground nor an antenna, I live in an apartment. I think I prefer repeaters anyhow, I like listening to the locals chitchatting.
I was trying for awhile to learn CW, but I haven't quite finished.
I work in broadcasting doing graphics.

Welcome to the group Lorriane I understand from a dear departed friend of mine who used to live in Mississauga, that it is a charming place... Living in an apartment does present a challenge, with regards to setting up a HF antenna... Not impossible though. The ground can be replaced by a quarter wave counterpoise for whatever band you use.. The MFJ artificial earth does work pretty well... Interesting to hear that you are learning CW... So it isn't dead! As for doing graphics in the broadcasting field ... For my sins I was once a chief engineer for a company in London that did graphics... That was back in the day of VAX computers and Quantel was a name to hold in awe... I look forward to hear more from you.. Trish
