International Young Ladies Convention (IYLC) 2016 — Milton Keynes
BYLARA is organising an International YL Conference in 2016 in the UK.

IT is a get together like no other and it is of like-minded YLs, OMs and SWLs from across the world who enjoy the Hobby of Amateur Radio.
This is a meeting and greeting of each other across boundaries that can normally only be reached by radio contact. We can now form friendships that will last a lifetime. We shall be able to meet and greet again in years to come and put names to faces and Call Signs heard.
In 2016 Great Britain has the pleasure of holding the Convention. As far as I know, it has never been held in this Country before.
So YLs, SWLs and OMs of Great Britain please come and welcome our visitors from other parts of the world as you will be welcomed. Some will come with OMs, families and friends that will join them in this venture and we shall make them all very welcome to this 2016 IYL Convention in Milton Keynes.
All preparations are well under way with the hotel booked and awaiting your bookings. There are two additional days out on offer. One is to Bletchley Park (WWII Enigma Decoding facilities) with much more than this to see. The second to Woburn Abbey with its beautiful gardens and house to explore. After you have explored these, BYLARA invites you to meet at Woburn Abbey Tea Room for quintessential cream tea. You will of course have a couple of days to do as you please, whether it is to enjoy the hotel’s facilities, visit Milton Keynes itself with its many shops, cafés and restaurants and much more, or investigate the surrounding countryside and places of interest.
Then on Saturday and Sunday we will spend the day at the RSGB Convention, Kent’s Hill Conference Centre, Milton Keynes. (One or both days are optional.) This is held every year where the world of radio related subjects are on display and talked about. There are lectures planned for both days with many relevant subjects covered.
On the Saturday evening there is also the RSGB Gala Dinner held and this gives us a chance to dress up in all our finery. There will be a coach available to take us to and from all the Events which means we can enjoy the Gala Dinner and get back to the hotel safely. This will also give us a chance to meet up with other Hams from this country and the visiting guests to exchange pleasantries, experiences, and swop call signs, till we meet again another year, in another country or even across the airways
It has taken a lot of work to set this experience in motion, so it is up to you all now to make it happen. You will join Hams and enjoy the wonderful experience and take memories and new friendships away with you as the Convention comes to a close on the Monday morning.
There is also going to be an OM Crèche set up so that when us ladies want a girlie time, chats or just a relaxing coffee together they will have interesting activities of their own. My OM, Rob G0RYL, will make sure they have an interesting time!!!!
The Itinerary for the Convention is as follows and is set out in brief:
October 3rd — Arrival of participants
October 4th — Free Day
October 5th — Bletchley Park
October 6th — Woburn Abbey
