Welcome Myra,
Well, you haven't been on air yet, but you have your license so that's a great start!
Part of the reason why I set this board up was because I knew quite a few ladies who had licenses but didn't go on air.
Hopefully you will get to know some people here and make friends, and maybe one day decide to meet them on the radio and finally get "on air"

thanks for reply, echolink is easy to use with perfect speech quality!!! no fading signals or noise, a bit like using msn or the telephone. when you sign in it shows you who has logged in,echolink can be downloaded free but they do check you out by making sure you are licensed, fax a copy of your licence. it would be a perfect way for members to communicate including those from overseas, last time I used it there were two stations from the wirral, one from the south and two from Canada,

Hi Everyone A very interesting site. Having just joined and fiinding my way around, here my first post as an intro (also to see if I get it correct). My name is Alison and I have been licensed since 1978, my daughter Charlotte (16) became licensed as an M3 earlier this year and is working towards her intermediate. As regards to Amateur radio I am currently the Regional Manager for RSGB region 9 (London and Thames Valley), I work professionally in radio communications and teach all levels for the UK Amateur license (registered instructor). So any technical or RSGB questions please feel free to ask. Bye for now. Alison

Hi everyone!!
My name is Martha Dinsmore, my callsign is VA3SBD I live just outside of Toronto, Ontario Canada. I'm an active member in the North Shore Amateur Radio Club. I was a member of CLARA (Canadian Ladies Amateur Radio Association) a few years ago but haven't renewed my membership in a few years. That's one of the things I must get around to doing that and renewing my membership with RAC (Radio Amateurs of Canada). I participate regulary in the emergency exercises with the Durham Region ARES group. I participate regularly in a lot of community events with the North Shore amateur radio club, bike rallies, walk a thons, canada day festivities, camp X display, GOTA, and several other events but too many to list. If anyone's interested I've posted a few links under the pictures section to some pictures I've taken at these events if anyone's interested in looking at them.
Well great to meet everyone and I look forward to talking to you all soon.

Hi Martha,
Thanks for all the info, you are a very active YL! That's great ;D
I think it's really interesting that you help out with emergency services. My fiance Steve is involved with Raynet who help out the emergency services and provide radio communications for events like the London Marathon.
