Hi My Husband came across this board and thought I might like to join. I have been telling him for years now that I would get my HAM license and I have yet to get it. I did take the test once and failed miserably . So he thought coming on here would help me get interested again. I do have the book and I try to study it is just so hard for me to be reading it from a book to get what is being taught. I need to be taught by showing not reading. But anyway my hubby's call sign is AB2MS and have no idea what kind of radios are lying around this house sorry. If you want to know anything just ask I will try and answer. Also sometimes I shorten words up because I type alot of work and they words automatically expand so you will have to forgive me for that

Hi there! Thanks for joining and welcome to Ladies on the Air. I know what you mean about trying to learn from a book. I have been trying to study the advanced book but it's hard because if there is something that I don't understand there is noone there to explain it to me.
I'm not sure how it works in the USA, but is there a nearby class that you could go to? If I had the free time I would go to a class to learn for my advance license but it's a few hours a week for 6 months and I just don't have the time with a seven month old baby.
I hope you do manage to get your license. Again, thanks for joining. I hope you can find some info here that helps.

You can always look and see if any Radio Clubs are offering any classes. we did the tech General and code on our own, took a class for the Extra that worked well for us.
