Hello,
How about adopting some H.F. CW Calling Frequencies for LOTA for those who like CW.
May I suggest the group call "CQ LOTA"
and may I suggest the following frequencies as a starting point:
1833 kHz
3533 kHz
5406 kHz ( UK Notice of Variation holders)
7023 kHz (too much digi-mode around 7033 kHz)
10133 kHz
14033 kHz
18088 kHz
21033 kHz
24913 kHz
28033 kHz

Thats an excellent idea for those who like CW Michelle and if anyone wants to go with it I don't see any problems altho it might be an idea to make sure Jackie is ok with the calling of 'CQ LOTA'......I don't think Jackie will mind though as she is a Lovely Lady out to make Amateur Radio work for YL's in all area's of interest within the hobby

Great idea Michelle!
If you keep it slow enough some of us could listen and learn and brush up on our CW! Now there's a thought!
Could do the same for SSB!

What about VHF does anyone here use 2m CW? Not sure about 144.033 think it is in the CW segment still. By the way there is a contest on 2m CW this weekend if you want to hear or work 2m DX this is a good opportunity. I have never been active on 6m so cannot suggest a frequency.
Now off to watch Strictly Come Dancing much to the disgust of my two left feet OM huh!!

Maureen,
It seems we need to agree possible sked times, frequencies +/- QRM, and CW speed.
What speed would you like me to send at?
I'm happy to start the ball rolling...but I only have 20 watts into a random long wire so I may not be easy to hear.
That leaves time and frequency to sort out? Monday 7th I have a free evening at home so I could call out at: 1900 UTC, 1930 UTC, 2100 UTC, 2130 UTC and 2200 UTC on 3533 kHz +/- QRM I'm a bit rusty myself to say the least. Other than for one tiny exception I have not used a morse key for over 20 years! However I've recently acquired a new one, a "Kent-Two", which has an iambic twin paddle mounted alongside a straight key on the same base. I've got to do a bit more than just look at it and dust and polish it!

Angie, Unfortunately I do not have 2m capability, but even if I did I would be out of VHF range from you. Michelle

Michelle!
I need to do a bit of brushing up first! I've forgotten most of my code although I know it comes back as you use it. I am also pretty well booked up in the evenings over the next few weeks - Cadet-wise this is one of the busiest times for us and I am actually away quite a bit just now. Maybe some of the others will be able to join you. I'll let you know when I get some spare time (if I can remember what that is!!).

Maureen,
No problems. Catch up with you on the air whenever. It's a one off evening off for me tonight in as much as the 'family' are off to a theatre somewhere and I'm baby-sitting our Shih-Tsu's, who cannot be left alone because of fireworks.
