Yes, well kinda...... we have an Echolink simplex link on 147.420 simplex that pretty much acts like a wide area coverage simplex repeater. It belongs to Stephen KG4BMK and can be found listed under the repeaters on the Echolink list in links as 'KG4BMK-L'. I am on Monday through Friday mornings while going to work at about 02:30 GMT. Yeah, I know that's not exactly a convenient time, but, that's when I am commuting to work. On the other hand, I could listen in there while mobile on my return trip to home at about 11:45 GMT if you or anyone would like to connect and have a chat. ;D

Hi Bongo
I'm usually on Echolionk on alternate Wednesday evenings with YL's from Canada, UK and Oz. We link up through a 2metre repeater in canada so one or two of the gals over there can join in. I've had to get a new PC so I hope to get Echolink up and running on it for this Wednesday, april2nd!

Echolink, from the mobile? I wan't to know that basics of Echolink, I have asked hams around my area but no one seems to know. I know there is the echolink website. But word for word, no one seems to know. I want to communicate with my friends in Florida Via Echolink without a computer from the mobile. People say you can but they don't know how. I just want to learn this so when HF conditions are noisy we can use echolink. Kim N8FY

Kim N8FY I don't know a lot about echo link, I assume your friends in Florida would be on echo link through their computer, you would be using your mobile radio( no computer on your end). You would have to connect through a local repeater that is set up with echolink Your friends use their echo link, connect to the repeater and you would use your radio as always to get on the repeater.

Hi Kim
I think the answer is to look on the Echolink program to see if there is a Repeater listed near where you are going to be. tell your friends the name of the repeater and they can then log into it from the program on their PC. When we have the 'net' on Wednesday evenings (21.30 UTC) 2 of the canadians are operating through the Repeater on 2 metres and the rest of us, from Canada, UK and Australia, are connected to that repeater on our PC's through Echolink.
