Congratulations on the web site and I sure hope you get the word around so more YL's come in to the hobby. I have showed my XYL your site but unfortunately she has no interest in the Radio unless music is coming out of it. Can I suggest you do a beginners thread and a thread on how to get started in this great hobby. Regards and good luck Andy (G7VOT) homepage.ntlworld.com/andymuza/G7VOT/G7VOT.htm

That is a good suggestion. For me I became interested in the hobby because my husband has always been interested. He likes it because I never complain about him wanting more radio "stuff" I actually encourage the purchase of radio equipment.

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the site and hi to your XYL also.
I will be launching a new Echolink Conference Server this week UKLOTA - UK Ladies on the Air - if you are able, get your wife to have a listen, she may hear some of us having a chat and that may break the ice.
We will be having a supporting website and there will be details as to how to study, prepare for and take the examinations will be shown on there.
Regard to you both - Lin

Hi Andy,
Welcome to the site and hope through you mentioning items from this site your Good XYL takes an interest soon! Some times us ladies need a little bit more encouraging that thought and some can be uninterested for ages and ages and then suddenly develop that interest not knowing how much they have already probably learnt....
Great suggestion Andy and I am sure we will get something up and running on that line pretty soon!
Just to add that the relationship with my hubby gets better and better the more things we do and are interested in together! Yes it is nerve wracking at first but I am positive that this will get easier the more transmitting is done.
Take Care For Now Andy, Regards To Your Good Lady Wife And Please Don't Be A Stranger, I Am Sure You Have Lots To Offer Us Newcomers To The Hobby!
Zo

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the nice comments. I suppose radio isn't for everyone, but I do think it is really great when both husband and wife are interested in radio, that way there are no arguments about how much time is spent in the shack! HiHi
Thanks for the ideas, I shall add more boards when I am next updating the site.
