So, would anyone on Ladies on the Air be interested in getting a net going? Not sure what would be the best frequency for it as we have UK members and oversea members too.
If anyone has any ideas I would be very welcome to hear them. I have never joined in a net before so I am hoping to maybe try and listen to some others to find out good practising procedure first. I am going to check out the BYLARA website and see if they are still running theirs.

I'm more than happy to join in and help! For my sins I've had a lot of experience of running Nets having done it for BYLARA for a long time! Unfortunately 20 metres is out for me because of antenna problems unless conditions are very good and I can use the dipole. It should be possible to run a European Net on 40m late afternoon and evening. Inter-G will work on 40m during the day and 80m in the evening.

Ah Maureen I'm so glad to have you on board! I'm sure your experise will come in handy. Me and Steve are going to road test our new antenna, hopfully over the next week. We have just put up a Butternut vertical for 40/80 and haven't really used it yet. We'll give it a go and make sure that we aren't splattering all over our neighbours and hopefully get a net going soon. During nets, if Steve isn't about I will be limited to 50w because I only hold an intermediate license. If Steve is around and supervising I can use the radio's full power (100w). We'll definitely keep this going and make it happen. Would be great if this could become a regular thing

Any help I can give is yours! Mind you, I think we'll have to wait until after the christmas and New Year Period. Between us Keith and I are out 5 nights out of 7 next week. Funnilly enough, we've nothing at all planned for the following week - just like the thing! Must admit 2 of my nights are visits to Cadet Squadrons. One is to present the prozes at their Presentation Eveining which I do each year, although this will be the last one as I shall come out of uniform in July. Another one, which we are both going to is a social event but I shall making a presentation to a former member of staff on my old Squadron so it is a cadet-orientated thing really but at least it is not a 'uniform' do!

Hi Ladies,
At the moment I am only allowed 10W as a Foundation Licencee but hoping by the end of January beginning of Feb to be upgraded to an Intermediate Licencee giving me the 50W...But you never know I still may be able to hear and partake in a net so I will keep an eye on this one and if it gets sorted will try and join in...

Hi Zo
The lack of power should not make that much difference if you have a decent antenna and conditions are OK! Someone once told me that some of the so-called 100w radios actually only transmitted about 80W and we managed OK with that!

I will be off until this Wednesday night coming up, so I would love to try to find everyone, conditions permitting after the sun apparently tried to explode the other day.
