I actually got Ireland (Cavan ie6s) and Netherlands (pa0gmw) on 3793 at about 6:00 pm local (0000 UTC). ;D ;D This is a good sign for our signal getting out.

That's great Renae, things are looking up ;D ;D Yes they are. We do plan to get an amp to help with DX but our newest radio needs to come in first ( supposed to be here next week) then we have to decide which amp etc.

Brilliant contacts Renae...Well Done oooooh new radio bet ya can't wait. I am getting a new radio in the next few weeks.. It's the next radio up from the Yaesu FT817..big brother. I am terrible with remembering numbers think its the 857...but don't quote me on that...lol Good Luck with the DX'ing.

I am terrible with remembering numbers think its the 857...but don't quote me on that...lol Good Luck with the DX'ing. same here with numbers! we are getting an Icom761 it isn't brand new older model but easy to work your way around. we have an Yaesu FT 840 I like it just fine.

We had an FT-840 about a year ago but Den wanted something else more new hence we got the Kenwood 480Sat which is quite good for HF but can't get VHF/UHF on it. We really could do with a good alround shack in a box...lol

We really could do with a good alround shack in a box...lol we have a separate dual band for vhf/uhf I dont care what we use as long as it is easy for me ot use I hate menus and sub-menus etc. Our Icom 761 is supposed to come this week it should be easy enough for me to navigate.

The 857 is a great radio Zo! Steve had one andI remember talking to a guy in Colorado who was using 1.5Kw and I was sat in the car with a whip antenna using 10w!!
I don't think he believed me but it's true!
