Hi, thought I'd say hello since everyone's saying how quiet it is! I'm Lucy from Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. I was going to hold off posting until my shiny new licence comes through but I posted the application off last Tuesday and it hasn't arrived in the Radio Licensing Centre yet apparently the callsign I want is still available though so fingers crossed... I went straight from foundation to intermediate so haven't really been on the air yet as I didn't bother getting a foundation licence because the exams were very close together. As soon as I get the callsign I'll be on Echolink though. I'm trying to figure out if I'll be able to use it to speak to my dad who is MM in the Caribbean at the moment so am looking forward to having a go at that! hopefully speak to you all on echolink soon! 33s Lucy

Hi Lucy and Welcome!
I have actually stayed in Carrickfergus - we did B&B for a night when my husband was over on business some years ago. We know Peter, GI4GVS who lives near the Castle, I think. We visited him and his Mum while we were there.
Look forward to speaking to you on Echolink.

Hi Lucy, Congratulations on passing both the foundation and the intermediate exams ;D And welcome to Ladies on the Air. It's great to hear from a new member, usually the board is much more active than this, everyone must be busy getting ready for Christmas. Stick around and I'm sure that you will come accross topics that interest you. Good to have you on board. I'm looking forward to getting on Echolink myself, just don't seem to find the time to pick up a mic and get my account validated. Hopefully with Christmas shortly out of the way I might get to join everyone. Take care and let us know your call once it is issued to you 33's Jackie

Hi Lucy, and welcome to this board. Congratulations to your exam and your new signal. I am Ulla from Sweden, I've been a ham for about 6 years. I prefer CW (Morse) but I'm also practicing my English using SSB. I've used the Eco link a couple of times with some of the ladies from Ladies on the air. It was fantastic! Hope to hear you soon on the bands or Eco link.Hope you will have a nice Christmas and a Happy New Year! 33's Ulla SM5XAX
