I am currently a Senior Officer in the Air Training Corps responsible for Sport and Radio Comms in the North East of England. At this time of the year I am away most Sundays with our representative Sports Teams travelling all over the North of England and down to the Midlands. I also 'look after' 12 Squadrons from between the Tweed and the Tyne!
I am Membership Secretary of the Sunderland and District Classic Vehicle Society and we own a 1960 Velocette motrcycle with sidecar and a 1939 Sunbeam Talbot 3-Litre Saloon car. We use the bike regularly and show it and have won a number of prizes with it over the years.
In the past I have been involved in Carriage Driving Competitions (like the Duke of Edinburgh!) and played Hockey and Badminto regularly and I became too stiff from injuries!!
We sometimes help out with Great Dane Rescue making home visits, transporting dogs and giving them a home! We currently have a Harlequin b*tch called Tess who is almos completely white and has blue eyes which don't work very well - think I might try her with my specs, Hi!
Sometimes I manage to fit in RADIO!!

Hi Maureen, I don't know how you manage to fit it all in! I'm not sure if this passes as a classic vehicle but here is a pic of me in a car that belongs to Steve's sister and her husband. It is in full working order as well. It doesn't have doors and I had a little trouble getting in and out because this photo was only about a week after my c-section!

Hi Jackie! The OM doesn't know how I fit it all in either and I sometimes wonder myself! The car would be welcome at any of our Shows. It would appear to be a replica but if the reg no indicates the year it was built it is classic-ish anyway! To qualify for free road tax a vehicle has to have been registered prior to 1972. I feel OLD when I see some of the cars people put on show as 'classics' - I remember them when they were new!! Have a look at www.sunderlandclassicvehicles.org.uk for a picture of our bike! Haven't got the car on there yet! Might email you a picture of it to put on here. Maureen
