Hi all,
Sorry I haven't been around much - started a new job a few weeks ago, did a day's work - went off sick that was a good start - luckily boss was understanding - anyway I'm getting better and am back at work but taking it steady.
So, I've opened a new temporary site for UKLOTA at uklota.typepad.com and will set it up to receive posts, if necessary. It's mainly an information site for the moment. I'm still having negotiations with certain parties for fundraising etc.
I plan to hold some information points for UKLOTA at rallies throughout the year. As many of you know, I am involved with the BORG/GB3DX Team (www.gb3dx.com) and we are having stands/tables at three rallies this year: Solihull/MARS (the one instead of Drayton Manor Rally) on Sunday 7th May at Alderbrook School, Blossomfield Road, Solihull, Birmingham (http://www.midamradio.co.uk) Also at Elvaston Castle Rally on 11th June 2006 at Elvaston Castle, Derbyshire (http://elvastonrally.co.uk) and finally, at the "Leicester" Rally which is held at Castle Donington on 8th and 9th September (http://www.lars.org.uk).
What I propose to do, to keep costs down initially, is to have some information for YL's available on the GB3DX stands at these events. If there are any of you who plan to visit the rallies and would like to give a hand talking to YL's about amateur radio and UKLOTA and Jackie's group, please let me know and I can send you some information beforehand. If you come along as a visitor, please call by and say "hi" to me/us, I'd love to meet you.
