We're trying to re-think the UKLOTA Echolink Net Schedule and would welcome some input on best times around the world to schedule it/them. I realise our current time of 21.30hrs GMT on a Friday night is proving difficult for some, including myself so I think we should have some alternatives. More than one is fine. There's no limit on using the UKLOTA Echolink Node at 270165 anytime - feel free - female friendly zone! Thanks for your time. Lin

Hi Lin!
As someone who does not have to work (almost 'retired'!) UK daytime Tuesday to Friday suits me. Weekends, especially sunday are not so good. Evenings vary as I am sometimes out at a Cadet Meeting and these nights vary. If we have 2 or 3 options available I'm sure I'd be able to fit something in though maybe not the same day/time every week.
I do have a look on Echolink 2 or 3 times a day but rarely see any of 'our' YL's on! Always happy to try to arrange a Sked if anyone is interested!
Cheers!
Maureen

Best Times for me would be weekdays from 6:30 am - 4:00 pm US central time I am - 6hours GMT
It is best for me when I am home alone as once Husband and daughter are home I may not be able to accesss my computer with my echo-link on.
I have to get in the habit of leaving echolink up when I am home during the day.

Hi Most weekday evenings suit me ok, usually I'm busy at weekends... I usually try echolink to see if anyone is on when I have the laptop going but unfortunately haven't coincided with anyone else so far! I have been chatting to one of the guys in the radio club though so at least it's definitely working! I should be available this evening, tues evening and thurs evening if anyone else is? 33's Lucy 2I0 LBS

Most week days are good for me speaking UTC of course, wait while I rethink that in my terms. Of course you wouldn't want to clash with any exsisting nets such as the VE3TTT on Wednesday 21.30 UTC, or the YL IRLP/Echolink on Saturday at 2100 UTC. Do you think that once an appropriate time is agreed on it could be noted on the calender so that the forgetful types (such as the undersigned) can check up. Could also help new comers. 33 Ann

I was wondering if a decision has been made regarding the net, but it appears that nothing has happened. Seems a shame to not be using the conference server, maybe somebody could make an executive decision?

Hi Ann
I often look to see if anyone is around at various times on different days but no joy! Put my callsign in your 'favourites' list and watch out for me! Maybe we'll be able to meet up.

Hi Lucy!
Thanks for giving me your nice NEW callsign! Well done! I'll add you to my Echolink 'favourites'. I spend most of my time at the PC - only thing is when I run Echolink I often forget to turn on my speakers!!

Well, folks
I keep checking on Echolink but never seem to find any of you and UKLOTA seems to be permanently OFF these days. What can we do to rekindle your interest?

Has UKLOTA died a death? I look on Echolink several times each day, inclding the evenings and the UKLOTA Node has been 'off' for a couple ofweeks now. I have a number of your callsigns in my 'favourites' list but none of you seem to have been connected when I've looked. Come on ladies, don't be shy!

I've noted that *UK_LOTA* has been off for a while too! What is going on with that? If the conf is hosted where I think it is, well I've had "problems" with a conf that I have hosted as well and have had to email someone to "restart" the conf because the conf "crashed" .[ This happened to one of my nodes and it has happen again , now I'm looking for some other place to have it hosted as my one particular node hasn't returned in a few weeks...plus the conf capacity size was cut --WAY-- down!..all in the name to keep "hosting free! ...this is not good for using it as an emergency WX server..50 connections just doesn't cut it, sorry ] Of course giving someone access to the ssh would help "fix" things when software crashes. ;D ..but that would be toooooo easy and not profitable now would it? Case in point....if *UK_LOTA* wishes to survive, look for a different host and somewhere where someone can access the conf via a ssh and make changes when needed or restart the conf should something ever happen.

Hi Maureen Sorry it's been a while but things got a little hectic for a while. I must admit I am not on Echolink a lot and then not for long. Fancy me not putting my call on my messages just as well my head is screwed on. What's the story with UKLOTA have not seen it for ages. Ann ZL3TNT

Hi Ann!
Don't know what is happening with UKLOTA on Echolink. I had to miss a few weeks (Fridays) because of Cadet activities and since I've been back 'in circulation' none of the YL's seem to have been around. I noticed the UKLOTA Node seems to be permanently off at the moment. I keep looking on Echolink in case anybody's about but no joy! I keep forgetting the Saturday one and I lose track of the Canadian one on alternate Wednesdays. It's my age you know - Bus Pass day approaching!!
Will keep an eye out for you!
Cheers
