Hi Ladies (and Gents!)
I shall be operating one of our Air Cadet Callsigns, GX3ATC, on Sunday 4th June and hope it will encourage some of our Cadets to have a go at the Amateur Radio Foundation Licence. The Bands we shall be operating on will obviously depend on conditions but hopefully we shall at least manage 40m and 20m. I would expect to be on air from about 1000 to 1600 local time. We shall have about 450 Cadets about as it is our big Review by the commandant of air Cadets! Only happens about every 5 or 6 years! Our last one was during the Millenium year when conditions were awful - hoping things will be better this time! Look forward to making contact with some of you. Hopefully I shall have one or two other operators to help out! We shall be in Washington in the North East of England.

That sounds great Maureen!
Me and Steve will have a listen out for you all and I'll also mention it at our local radio club so hopefully you will get lots of QSO's

Thanks, Jackie and Renae! I hope conditions are better than when we did this 6 years ago!! The Bands were awful then! We'll be operating with 100 watts into a long wire antenna so fingers crossed. Hope to catch up with a few more of you on the day.

Conditions were strange! We managed some Inter-G but it appeared to be long skip on 40m. Both 40m and 20m had plenty of Gewrman Stations associated with the World Cup (Aaaaargh!) and most people were fighting to speak to them! We did make contact with a couple of UK special Event Stations but heard nothing outside Europe on any of the bands. Nevertheless, we enjoyed ourselves for a few hours! Sorry we did not get any YL contacts, though. apart from Lesa on 2m.

Glad you made some contacts.
If we were home we would have tried to contact you but we were out of town. I hate where there are major pileups for a station.
