Hee Hee Thanks Renae,
You caught me having a sneaky read of the boards before tea and I couldn't resist coming back to thank you again for sending me the modifications etc. I got your pm's no problems but just don't have enough time to reply to all the posts until after tea this evening.
Will be showing Den the mod's hopefully he will find them quite useful with the photo's.
Thanks again Renae.

You are like me, I pop on and off during the day and sneak on during the evenings, so if anyone notices my times it looks like i am glued to the computer.
But alas I am not.
Hope you have success with teh modifications.
Dave just got an antenna tuner so he will be playing with our antennas!

Hee hee what are we like eh? We have had our antenna tuner for a couple of months and I have had a lesson in using it but it will take a bit of practice for me to remember everything...lol When Den saw the photo's he knew instantly what the mod's were about and he sounded pretty excited so if he applies them I will let you know and also let you know how he gets on with it. I usually go on pc in mornings as I don't get chance much after that until about 8pm when I put my foot down with family and tell em to get off me pc...lol...alas hubby's died a few days ago and this is why we ended up moving mine to living room. They were both in kitchen networked and I had gotten fed up with not having kitchen as a kitchen. It was more like an office combi.... Anyway's I best get on with catch up on rest of forum. Hope your having a great day!

I was quite sad when Den's pc died last week but a friend is selling us his laptop because he just got a new one and we will be able to network it with this one if needs be. A new laptop is also on my christmas wish list so you never know I may get one of my own soon. That way I can have all my stuff on there without having to worry about the kids getting viruses and stuff and then anything I do on there can be put on disc and transferred to this one sort of a back up too for this incase I have to reformat.

I do hope you can get another computer. We are very used to having two computer. If we had to go down to one it would be a big adjustment. Do you have a Antivirus Program and firewall? We use Norton antivirus and Firewall. Here is the linkt to the World Wide site It isnt very expensive and very easy to use. I have the firewall upall the time www.symantec.com/index.htmalso do you have an anti spyware program? we have Spysweeper and Spybot search and destroy www.webroot.com/here is a link for the trial version of spysweeper www.download.com/3000-8022_4-10192729.htmlHere is the link for spybot Search & destroy spybot is free. www.safer-networking.org/

I daren't say how many PC's we have in this house! The OM has 2 because he works from home plus an old laptop for when he goes away on business. I have my own PC which is not networked to his as his really belongs to the Company. I also have a laptop which I treated myself to last year which I use for score-keeping, etc when we have Swimming and Athletics Competitions! I have ab OLD laptop (386!) which I am thinking of connecting up to my Icom 746 when I can remember how to do it! I'd be lost without my PC because all my Cadet paperwork is stored on it - I have it on all day! Apart from 'work' I use it to keep the old grey matter active! More importantly, it helps me to keep in touch with all my YL friends around the world when conditions are poor on the bands! I'd get withdrawal systems if this one died!

I would be on the air and net almost all day if I could be then...lol ;D I think I have all but sold Den on the Laptop for Christmas idea so it might be in the bag but I won't say for definate just incase something else comes up and spoils it.... This pc is mine but being shared by the whole house at the moment...all 8 of us so you can imagine how much time I don't get in as opposed to how much I do It's definately surprising how many reasons we are now able to find for getting another pc or another laptop to keep all our sacred life area's separate...lol Oh well we are just keeping up with the times
