Well Done to your hubby Renae for making contact with Outer Hebrides....Great Contact. he then later on got another Scotland contact on Orkney Islands (3781 mm0sjh) one of the contacts was doing IOTA I think it was the second man. I am happy beacuse that means even though band condtions aren't the best I should (hopefully) be able to talk with everyone from here. We are seriously considering the purchase of an amp so we can get the signal out further.

Den took a couple of radio's and antenna's and had a couple of contacts while we were there. I was disappointed that there wasn't more activity on 2mtrs FM but where we were was in a valley so most of the signals were being shadowed by the hills...These are just some of the piccies taken. Yesnaby. The Cottage we stayed at. Me at the Ring of Brogar. Me at the Brough of Birsay. Good Luck with getting the Amp Renae...Hope you can hear us over hear in U.K... M3LHI ~ Zo

Great news that your hubby managed to work Scotland on 80m! That's a positive sign for a net that we can all get on to! Zo, great photo's! I love Scotland and have been round most of the mainland but have never made the island yet (Skye but none of the rest). I'm sure that we will one day. If you take a look at my website, I have finished uploading photos on to the Scotland page (finally!). www.jackie-bosworth.piczo.com33's Jackie

I heard the one man's name was Steve and I flew into the room to hear the actual call sign...different Steve but positive sign about our signal getting (close) to your area

Thanks Jackie and Renae, Scotland is beautiful...even when the weather is bad it can be spectacular...Jackie great photo's of your holiday...part of it was like I was back driving up the A9 and A99 all over again. I drove the whole journey in one go barring a couple of 20 minute stop off's...We drove through John'o'groats to Gill's Bay which is where we got on the ferry over to Orkney...Thanks for the link to them Jackie. Renae...I too have to wait till other purchases have been made before I can get the radio equipment that I want hee hee but I can wait...
