Do you have a radio in your vehicle?
I don't and I never will. Dave has one in his truck uses to and from work to talk with his pals.

Only time I have a radio in my car is if I'm en route to a club event and I need it. I don't keep a mobile in the car because I'm leery about having it in there offering someone the opportunity to break into my car and steal it so that's why I don't. The radio I keep in my car, when I'm going to a club event where I'll need it, is my 2m handheld (which I'm hoping to replace soon it's almost 12 years old) a cigarette adapter because the battery doesn't keep a full charge any more, and of course the mag mount on the car as well.

I used to have one in the car - 2m - for when I was travelling back and forwards to my Squadrons at night along country roads! As soon as I got my first 'proper new' car I decided not to 'spol' it!! In those days I did not have a mobile phone but now I have that in case of emergencies!! I don't like the idea of driving along the road 'chatting' at the same time. I need all my concentration to drive these days!

We have a 2m/70cm Yasue FT8800, with a Watson dual band antenna. Steve has put in a hands free kit for it so it makes it much easier.

Oh I would, in a minute! I run a dual baned 2m/440 and a 10m mobile. As 10m is usually dead still, I just chat with a couple of friends on 2m as I commute. 440 is quite dead here, but I use dual band rigs at home and mobile mainly for cross band capability from 440 to 2m.

I don't commute like I used to, now I walk to work, 2 blocks away, 3blocks to the grocery, saving a lot of gas here lately. This spring I'll probably pull HF from the car and leave v/u hf for when I commute to all the hamfests again this year. If you ever run across an old Yeasu 1500 even if x-mit side doesn't work, it makes a great compact scanner (analog). Next year or so, I'll probably run with 6 meters instead of 10 only cause I've already built a 6m CU copper loop for the car. UHF is Always dead in Indianapolis area, we have about 25 continusly active repeaters on VHF around here, last 3 months they seem to keep getting busier and busier w/ all the new hams in the area. I'm finding myself straying away from VHF more and more every year, though no particular reason. '73 GLD

We have got another radio FT 100 and an Atas 100 which we will be using in the future in the car and that covers HF which hopefully will be good for mobile DX'ing. Hubby uses the radio in the car but when we go on Mobile DX trips I hope to make use of it too

I have a Radio Shack HTX-242 2m in my van. It goes from house to van as needed. I do weather spotting and take it with.
