Yay!! You got your callsign! ;D When I first got mine I sat with my hand held for about 30 minutes wanting to put a call out but not daring to Eventually someone from the radio club came on so I went back to them and it was much easier talking to someone that I knew. Anyway, congratulations, I can't wait to hear about your first QSO.

Awe Bless Thank You So Much Ladies I actually had my first QSO this afternoon. GMT - 14.05 - 14.07 Station GB200T, Operator Name Dave! (Thanks Dave!) This was a Special Events Station, Celebrating Anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar. Den had previously had his first QSO with the same station and was so excited that he called me into the Radio Shack to tell me the details and suggested that I also try for a contact. It took me about 15 mins before I could be heard inbetween breaks and when I had finished the QSO I was shaking so badly that Den even mentioned that he could see it...lol I think that now that bit is over and done with I may just be able to go and do some CQ'ing myself in the evenings when it is quieter in the household. I am still nervous but I think that won't go unless I get right on in there and do it more. Thanks again Everyone for All Your Congratulations - M3LHI

Whooo Hooo! First contact made! It's great isn't it?! When I had finished my first QSO I looked like I had just run a mile, my cheeks were bright red ;D If you keep it up each one will get easier and easier and you'll soon be used to it.

I have still got butterflies at the thought of going on again but I know the longer I put it off the worse it will be. Just now we are watching a bit of TV before we go off into the radio shack, can't wait, I have also got right into listening to others making their contacts so will be most enjoyable either way

Thanks Again Katie, Linda and Everyone, I had my second QSO last night on 2mtr band. It was a Local Contact and the Station G0UAA (Ian) was very good with me. Very helpful. He is a member of our Local Radio Club altho has not yet met Den and myself however. I was on a 2mtr Yaesu VX - 150 which for those of you who do not know is a handheld unit. I was unable to give him a report because the radio wasn't connected to a signal meter but it was connected to a 2m antenna which could do with being a bit higher up than it is but weather is a bit yuk for that at the moment and back garden like a mud pool...hee hee. However my audio was loud and clear and giving him 20+db. I was on a bit of a high afterwards and it took me ages and ages to get to sleep was dead tired this morning.... Thanks again for your Congrat's Ladies it really means a lot
