Hi All, We are finally getting a new antenna for the garden. It is a Cushcraft mini beam and covers 10, 15 and 20 meters. We had to get a mini beam because of space restrictions. Looking forward to some better DX-ing. At the moment we only have a G5RV and while it's not bad for what it costs, it's not that good either Catch up with you soon,

Picked up the new beam today! Can't wait to see the neighbours faces when it goes up!
For a mini beam it isn't actually so mini, hi hi. Don't know what I expected but it's bigger than I thought it would be. I will take a picture once it is up (maybe next weekend) and post it on the pictures board.

Ah well, the beam fell down because it was too big and heavy!
Steve has got himself a cobweb and he emailed me this morning and mentioned that he is having some good results with it.
Never mind! I'm sure Steve will have fun with the cobweb.

We have a G2DYM trapped dipole as we have very limited garden space - apparently it should not work the way we have it configured but it does! It is great for working inter-G on 40m and 80m and I have used it on 20m althought it receives better than it transmits on that band. We also have an HQ1 mini-beam (not so mini!) which is great for HF - only problem is the high winds last winter damaged it and we have not been able to get it down to repair it yet! Spare time in this household is somewhat lacking due to OM's work commitments and my other interests! Only real problem with the mini-beam is its height above the roof as it does need planning permission, which we do have!

Hi Everyone, hubby just got us a new antenna yesterday, it's a Hustler 4BTV, a 4 band trap vertical covering 10, 15, 20 and 40 mtrs, and we have a long wire slung over some trees for 80 mtrs. Hoping he's gonna get it put up before the weekends out. Sorry that your mini beam fell down Jackie .
