Thanks for the post Maureen!
Every year my local radio club take part in the Lighthouses on the Air weekend and we transmit from Flamborough lighthouse. We go for the whole weekend and all camp over. This year was the first that I have been involved and I really enjoyed it. It was great fun.

A few years ago the OM, myself and a friend operated from St Mary's Lighthouse in whitley Bay. Unfortunately, we could not do a 'round-the-clock' operation as there had to be a member of Staff present. the lighthouse is now a tourist attraction and education centre owned by the local Counsil. also it is only accessible by a causeway at low tide and they would not leave us on the premises on our own!
One day I'd love to operate from Corbiere on Jersey.

I didn't see this thread before - strange.
I'm interested in working lighthouse stations - and see from the US lighthouse site that there is one in Mull operating until tomorrow but I haven't been able to find out anymore information about it other than it's run by Jim and the callsign (presumably his) is GM0GMN.
Anyone got any information about this?
Would love to work my first lighthouse!

Hadn't caught up with that one Lin, but if you get it you can start your SCOTIA Award for Scottish Islands!
