Hi everyone,
I went to a Radio Rally in Birmingham today, probably the last one of the season.
I handed out a few leaflets about UKLOTA and the board to ladies but most of them looked bored to death, just being dragged around by OM's - doubt they were amateurs, just there under sufferance.
The average age must have been about 60, some odd characters.
We had a stand for GB3DX and had some interesting chats and debates!
Not too bad, just recovering from all that standing.
Hope you all had a good weekend?
Lin

Thanks both! To be honest it was 99.9% male - just a few wives being dragged round on the pretence that it was better than stopping at home cooking the Sunday roast, I bet! Still it got me out the house and the kids stayed with their grandparents for the day.

uusally when we go to hamfests it is mostly males as well, usually when we go we run itno alot of people we know and chat more than anything. I dont understand why some woman go along if they arent interested. I wouldnt go with my husband to something I had no interet in.

Some of the women go to the rallies if they can buy computer-related stuff. A lot of them go to the Elvaston Castle Rally because it is held in fantastic grounds with an interesting old house to visit and there are stalls, etc for the ladies and kids! However, most rallies have nothing for those who are not radio-orientated! I go to vintage Car Rallies with the OM when we show our old car or m/cycle outfit because we meet up with friends but I don't go if it is only a place where they are selling bits and pieces!

Maureen, I went to Elvaston castle this year for the first time and really enjoyed it. It was a great day out.
Glad that you had a nice day at the Birmingham rally Linda. I couldn't make it this time but usually enjoy them.

Jackie and Linda, I hope you both enjoyed the rallies you attended!

If it doesn't clash with a Cadet activity or classic Car show (I've a sneaky feeling it does!) I can come down and stay with my friend in spondon which is walking distance from Elvaston - if you'r fit enough!!
