You may notice that Ladies on the Air looks a little different, no more adverts taking up space all over the place!! Yay!
Also, there is no longer any reason not to come and post some pictures as we now have the ability to add attchments to our posts. Under the 'subject' box there is now an 'add attachments' box. Very simple!
This is something that I will be paying for each month, but I have to remember to enable it on the first day of every new month. So, if you log on in the first few days of a new month and notice the ads are back or you are not able to post photo's then it just means I have forgotten, lol! You could always email me to remind me.
Hope to see you all on the boards.

Great! Now I can put some photos on!! (As long as you don't have too many 'blonde Moments' at the beginning of the month, Jackie!!).

Hi Jackie!
I have a slight problem with the new look - I find the headings at the top a bit difficult to read - i.e. 'Ladies on the air' followed by the particuler section I happen to be in at the time. I suppose it is part of the Navgigation system for want of a better description. Otherwise it looks great!!

I think thats because of the background that I added when I took the Xmas one off. I can see what you mean so I will find another shade for the background and hopefully it will be better.
PS, watch out for blonde moments coming soon, I'm off to have my 'blondeness' touched up at the hairdressers next week ;D

Great Jackie - the clouds do make it easier to see! glad it wasn't just my eyes! they're bad enough at the best of times. I suppose I could say I have white/grey/ brown moments!! I'm quite white at the front and in the middle but the back is stubborn and still has some brown. Skewbald moments - that's it!!

Jackie, just a thought here.
I assume the problem being discussed here is the "Welcome" message at the top and the way it displays on different backgrounds.
Now I don't know anything about Pro Boards, but I also assume you have added that text to a template somewhere?
I'm going to "TRY" to post a bit of HTML code below (don't know how this board reacts to posted code), but if you replace the text with this code (which includes the text anyway), then it should display on any background.
I've set it to 92% wide in the first line (which is what this board appears to be) but you can alter that setting if you want to. I've matched the colours of this board but you can also change all the "color" settings if you want to.
If it doesn't work you can always put the old text back.
Code follows (I hope).... ;D
<table width="92%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="1" bgcolor="#0000CC" align="center"> <tr> <td><table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="0" bgcolor="#33CCFF"> <tr> <td height="25" align="left" valign="top"><font color="#3300CC" size="2" face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Welcome to Ladies on the Air. This board is open to men and women. The aim of this board is to encourage and support female interest in Amateur Radio. Please take a moment to look around the forum. Guests may post in the guest section, however registration is free, simple and only takes a minute. Thanks for looking.</strong></font></td> </tr> </table></td> </tr> </table>
[EDIT] Code posted ok. You can just cut and paste the whole lot now.

Hi Martin
The problem I had was not with the blue 'Welcome' message but with what followed - the line immediately above the Forum 'Table'. the change of background has done the trick for me, though!

Ahh, the navigation bar. Yes, I can see where that would be a problem with dark text on a dark background.

Jackie, did you ever consider trying out that code I posted above?
I tried it out on a mock-up on my own computer and it worked just fine.
Here's a pic of how it looked this end:

I see it. The code you used puts a box around the words "Welcome to Ladies on the Air. This board is open to men and women. The aim of this board is to encourage and support female interest in Amateur Radio. Please take a moment to look around the forum. Guests may post in the guest section, however registration is free, simple and only takes a minute. Thanks for looking."
