A few of us made it! Shirley in Adelaide and I started off and were joined by Samsun from Turkey. Unfortunately Lin has a nasty bug so was unable to join us - hope you are getting better, Lin! Later, I had a chat with Nicki, M5YLO and Rhondalin in New Zealand. We'll keep trying on Fridays and hope to hear a few more of you.

Hi Renae!
Hope to speak to you again soon! February and March will be busy for me as I have to inspect 12 Cadet Squadrons (evenings) during that time - one or two may be Fridays, unfortunately, but I'll be on when I can!

Hello All: Just dropped in to say hi and wish everybody good tidings. I read the thread "so quiet" and like others don't have anything real newsworthy to post but I wanted to let everyone know all's well in eastern Maine. <Question>.. Is there a regular time for folks to chat on UKLOTA server?? I check it about every day but see no activity. Could a regular time be set (UTC) on fridays (or daily for that matter) with consideration for those of us that are 5-8 hours behind UTC? I'd like to have a chat / net for those that could make it. I realize it would be a little late for the UK but 2300 UTC would equal 1800 eastern & 1700 central so most of us would be out of work & home on the US side. Is this worthy of consideration? Aside from that it's been a remarkably warm January here in Maine, at least along the coast. There is NO snow on the ground & the temps have been in the 40s durring the day & high 20's-low 30's at night. No complaints here given the cost of heating the house. 'nuff for now.. 73 to all.. JW

Here we are - 23.14 on the 3rd of February and there were 3 of us tonight - myself, Nicky M3YLO and Teresa PT2TF from Brazil but where was everyone else? I shall miss 5 Fridays in February and March so I hope someone will be around to 'fly the flag' for the YL's!
Hope everyone is well!

Hi Anne,
Welcome to Ladies on the Air! I haven't managed to get on to the UKLOTA chats either, not that I don't know the times, but that I haven't got round to installing echolink on my laptop!
I'm not too sure of the times but I will send an email to Linda and see if she can let you know some details.

Hi Anne
Normal time for Friday on Echolink is 2130 in UK. that will be 2130 UTC next week (24th) but will change the following Friday after we have put our clocks forward! so, after next weekend it will still be 2130 for us here in the UK but 2230 UTC (I hope!).
I am usually there but have missed some recently due to Cadet activities. I made it on Friday but was half an hour late and there was no-one about. I shall be away for the weekend and will miss this Friday but should make the following one! The Net has become a bit of a hit and miss affair since christmas so hopefully some of the others will come back to the fold soon ;D

OOOOOPS! Sorry ANN (NO EEEEEE). I won't be around on Friday as I shall be in Lincolnshire; home is South East Northumberland. I shall be in a bar with a load of OM's (emphasis mainly on the 'O'). Although I'll have the laptop with me I don't think I'll have access to somewhere to use Echolink and I certainly won't have access to HF Radio comms - even though it is a 'Radio' orientated Conference I shall be attending. I hope some of the others come up for you. I'll be around the following week though! Look forward to catching up with you.

Well, there I was last night, signed on to Echolink at the appointed time but the only YL's around were the Canadians on VE3TTT-R so I had a chat to Minnie, VE3DBQ and the gals. where was everyone else?
Unfortunately, I shall be away next Friday but hope to catch up with some of you somewhere sometime!
cheers

Ok, I am soooooo going to be joining in soon!
Steve has got a new laptop so I now have his old one. It has built in microphone and speaker so I don't have to worry about getting them. I will get Echolink set up this weekend and validate my call so I will probably have to set up the scanner to copy my license. But, all been well, I should be able to join in next weekend.
It's a wireless connection so I hope it won't sound too jumpy.

Great news, Jackie!
Unfortunately I shall be in Linda-country next Friday, probably still sitting on a coach at the appointed hour! Hopefully, some of the others will join you. Look forward to chatting some other time, though!
Hope you are keeping well - no doubt 'growing' by the day!
cheers
