Hi girls,
Sorry I haven't been around for ages - so much happening here - won't bore you with the details but illness, death and destruction about cover it!
Anyway, I was on the net last Friday with Maureen and Iris and it was great to pick up the mic again after my absence.
Plans for UKLOTA will now be picked up and refreshed and I should soon have some news for you about that.
Don't forget, the nets are still available on Friday evenings on Echolink Node 270165 from 2130 GMT - and you are welcome to use the UKLOTA node anytime 24/7 for chat - most of the time it is isolated from the remainder of the Echolink system - I do link it up sometimes to generate interest etc. It's costing us £ so give it some use!
Hope to hear/chat with you all soon.
Take Care - Lin

yes, it was good to chat again, Linda! Unfortunately my Cadet duties might keep me away from Echolink on Friday evenings for the next 5 weeks. It all depends what time I finish a Squadron's Inspection and how far I have to drive to get home. this week's is only 8 miles away and I am usually finished by 2130 so I might make it if someone is still around at 2200! Fortunately Alnwick (30 miles away) and Berwick (62 miles away) are on other days of the week. As the rest are within a radius of about 15 miles I might make it will be late!
I joined the Canadian-based Net last night. they are on every second Wednesday at 2130. Connect through VE3TTR-R (I think that's right) and listen for Minnie VE3DBQ. We had YL's from Canada, Australia, New Zealand and UK last night. Also try the Friendship Net on the first and third Saturday of the month at 2130UTC - link to NV-gate (?).

Hi Lin,
It's good to have you back and sorry to hear that things have been bad at your end. It's good to hear that UKLOTA is still going well.
Lucy, I don't have Echolink set up on the laptop yet, but could maybe arrange to meet you on air sometime. From your callsign I am guessing that you are in Ireland? So it would probably have to be on HF if you have it?
Anyway, I will ask Steve to give me a crash course on his radio (which I haven't used yet!!) so if anyone wants to chat sometime, we will just need to arrange a time and date suitable for each other.
33's
Jackie

Hi Jackie, Yep I'm in Carrickfergus in Northern Ireland. I don't have a radio yet but I do have access from a friend's house around the corner so it would be possible, or else we could try through an echolink repeater if you could connect to that? Let me know what you think! 33's Lucy ps I think you may have talked to Paul Letters in our radio club a while back re making contact on a club night (Tuesdays)?

Hi Lucy!
Do you know Peter, GI4GVS, in Carrickfergus? He is a 'white stick' operator and a nice guy. I visited him once when the OM and I were over there.

Hi Lucy!
Please ask the person you know to pass on my Best Wishes to Peter. We spoke a lot on the BYLARA Net and was a real pleasure to meet him and his Mum!

Hi Renae, How are things with you? we have been busy here, hoping with spring approaching, Dave can work on a new 160 meter antenna and get a 80 meter one up.

Hi Lucy
I'm Lin - Founder of the UKLOTA Echolink Node 270165 - you'd be more than welcome to join us on Echolink - at the moment we meet up on Friday evenings at 21.30 hrs.
I know this isn't always convenient - Friday night is often a popular "social night" for some - so I'm looking for new skeds also.
Anyway, if you can join us you'd be more than welcome to do so.
Don't forget though, you can use the UKLOTA node at anytime to contact YL's worldwide.
Any queries, just email or call me.
Lin
